Wow! I didn't know that fishing employs over 10 times the number of people that mining does! These are awesome statistics!

Did you all hear about the Bristol Bay Energy Summit? More jobs that support the fishing industry, rather than threatening it:

The Bristol Bay energy summit will take place Oct. 8-10 at Dillingham Middle School gym.

These are very good points! I think that the Pebble would ruin the state if let thru. Because like you stated lots of money is brought in by fishing which is a big part of Alaska. And the mine is not going to last forever or give people jobs for ever. leaving a lot of people with no job when the Pebble mine is done or over. And do you think these people can just go back to fishing for money? NO, and lots of the people who come out of state to see Alaska and go commercial fishing cant. Leaving so many people jobless, some jobs that WILL be lost are, all the 50 odd jobs at the canaries per the 70 that are probably in Alaska. that amounts to 3500 jobs lost in Alaska to the canaries alone.
